Nancy Griffith was a dedicated preschool and kindergarten teacher for 43 years. Although she was qualified to teach in any area of the city, she chose to teach at the Compton Unified School District where she could instruct, support, and inspire underserved Black youth. She inspired generations of children to believe in themselves and know that they were “somebody special.”
